The Golowan Festival is a annual festival held in penzance, it's become one of the most colourful and unique comminity festivals in the south west, it's a very traditinal festival, blending cornish tradition with contempory imagery and ritual.
The festival started off very small, but now, twenty years later the festival lasts seven to nine days, and progresses down ten different streets in town.
Hundreds of people volenteers each year, plenty of local school help out, and bands and street entertainers preform.
it costs about £100,000 to hold the festival.
The festival and organisation itself is owned my cornwall council, and volenteers.

The Exchange Galleryis in princess street in Penzance, it's a contempory visual arts gallery.
the Gallery itself has two seperate locations, the one we visited in penzance, and one in Newlyn, which is just outside penzance.
The Gallery does an educational outreach program with local schools, there is currently an exhibition on garden plants and flowers, and a local primary school has been invited to draw.
When we were at the gallery we spoke to an educational outreach manager, she told us that the gallery's main focas point is their connection with the schools, and there arts projects, as they are a very important part of the community, and they are the future of cornwall and art.
