Awen is the company that runs the Tre project,
Awen is a a media production enterprise based in west cornwall, inspiring media for positive social change
Their work is all about inspiration and empowering communities by telling story's.
The brief we have been set by the Tre project is to create a short film around the title 'Home'
(The word 'Tre' is the cornish word for home)
When Barbara Santi came into college, we asked her various questions about the Tre project,
we found out that the Tre project is funded by quite a few different organisations, these are mostly through grants from; FEAST, a company which funds quite a few cornish companys, The lottery fund, The Arts council, and finaly Carn to Cove.
so it's really well funded.
if i wanted to work with the Tre project, I'd have to create a video, maybe using archive footage, which i will have to discuss with Barbra when i have decided.
Pro's:
I'd be doing something i really like, and since the theme of the video is 'Home' I'd literally be able to film it in my local area, and my home.
it's a really well organised project, and it's been very successfully in the past.
i did a video for my first project, and really enjoyed it.
we've already met somebody from the Awen team, so it'll be easy to keep contact in the business relationship.
Con's
I wouldn't really be doing any photography, but then i can probably put some in with the video.
There would probably be quite a lot of work into the research when doing this project, as it's using archive footage, and is very linked with the history of cornwall, so I'd have to do a lot of research and watch old video's to get inspiration.
Outcome:
I'm really interested in working with the Awen team, the project really interests me and sounds like a lot of fun, it'd also be doing a lot of filming, which i enjoy.
after looking at all the pro's i decided i really would like to do this project.
